Thomas P. Fernberg Obituary
Thomas P. Fernberg, 80, of Brockton since 1959, died peacefully April 16, 2014, surrounded by his family. A native of Dorchester, he was a 1956 graduate of Northeastern University and was an accountant and systems analyst at Texaco for 31 years. Formerly an active communicant at St. Nicholas Church, he kept his Catholic faith close to his heart and lived it daily. Tom was a member of the Randolph Elks. An avid Boston Red Sox, Bruins, New England Patriots and Notre Dame football fan, he enjoyed bowling and playing softball in his youth. He had a great sense of humor and had many great loves in his life, his wife of 60 years, Marie; and their 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Thomas was the beloved husband of Marie Chickie (Morrissey) Fernberg for 60 years; loving father of Thomas R. Fernberg of Brockton, Timothy Fernberg and his wife Robyn of Bridgewater and Kristen Pleach and her husband Walter of Raynham; grandfather of Evan and Jordan Fernberg and Kathryn and Daniel Pleach; brother of Richard Fernberg and his wife Teresa of N. Grafton, Louise Karlberg and her husband Kenneth of Weymouth and the late William, Robert and Paul Fernberg; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Monday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Tuesday at 10 a.m., funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Church, Brockton. Burial at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
