Marjorie Augustine Soderholm, the beloved reigning matriarch of the Soderholm family passed away on her 95th birthday April 23, 2014. She was born in Brockton to the late John Augustine and Mildred A. Leavitt. Marjorie was the cherished mother to her children and their families. She could always be counted on to know exactly where all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were at all times. Marjorie believed that family was the most important thing in the world and instilled that in all family members. She could always be counted on to attend any family event even when it meant traveling the world to be part of it. She was always ready to go wherever anyone in the family needed her. She was the glue that held the Soderholm family together. Marjorie graduated from Brockton High School in 1937. She was previously married to Bruce C. Soderholm, Sr. (deceased). Together they raised four children in West Bridgewater and Cape Cod: Bruce Soderholm Jr. and his wife Janice of Harwich and Naples, Florida, Linda Collier of Wilmington, Delaware, the late Carol Paquette and her husband Robert of Lady Lake, Florida and the late David Soderholm. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson Benjamin David Soderholm. Marjorie has two sisters Natalie Barlow and Dottie Thompson and her husband David. A brother Royal and his wife Grace predeceased her. She leaves many nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes to the Devine family (Deirdre, Cheryl, Gene and Diane Mulhall) that included her so thoughtfully in all of their family gatherings and showed her such great kindness. We will all miss the quiet strength, positive, happy and generous spirit of this amazing woman who has now come to the end of her wonderful life. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, May 2 at 9 a.m. at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, followed by a burial at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
