Earle W. Lovell Sr., 77, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died April 28, 2014, after a long illness. Earle was the husband of Rose M. (Zarrella) Lovell and the son of the late Earle G. and Flora (Wood) Lovell. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator before a 30-year career as the head of maintenance for Our Lady of Sorrows Convent here in Brockton. He retired in 2007. Earle had a great love for the outdoors and farming and spent as much time as he could on his tractor. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Susan M. Kinney of Middleboro, Earle W. Lovell Jr. of Norwell, John J. Lovell, Rosemary L. Tonelli and Jean E. Lovell all of Brockton and Diane Bulu of Middleboro; his siblings, Charles A. Lovell and Audrey L. Simmons of Brockton, David L. Lovell of Pa., and Francesca Rist of Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and his 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was also the brother to the late Ronald J. Lovell. Visitation will be in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123), Brockton, Saturday 12-3:30 p.m. immediately followed by a funeral service at 3:30, all to conclude at 4 p.m. Cremation will follow with burial of ashes in Milton Cemetery at a later date.
