Martha L. (Gruntmeyer) O'Brien, 91, a lifelong resident of Brockton until moving to Oak Point in 2000, died May 1, 2014, surrounded by family. A graduate of Brockton High School, she worked from home as a seamstress. She was an excellent cook and loved worldwide traveling and learning languages. Martha was the wife of the late James L. O'Brien; beloved mother of Kathleen Holish and her husband Lawrence of S. Elgin, Ill., Jeanine Wales and her husband Jeffrey of Pocasset, Marlene Hult and her husband Robert of Naples, Maine, Lauren Capers and her husband Christopher of Middleboro and Melanie Thompson and her husband James of East Bridgewater; loving grandmother of Lawrence, Lisa, Heather, Jennifer, James, Mark, Brian, Jessica, Gregory, Hillary, Zachary and Bridget; great-grandmother of 5; sister of the late Victor Gruntmeyer, Mary Goyette, Helen Latko, Marvina Camara and Charles Frankiewicz; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews.
