Elizabeth K. (Alden) Comeau, of Red Hook, NY, passed away peacefully with family at her side, Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was born in Boston, on September 1, 1932 to the late Robert and Ellen (Mannix) Alden of Whitman. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Basile (Perry) Comeau of Red Hook, NY; a brother Robert K. Alden Jr. of Kingston, NY; her daughters, Catherine Strizzi of Latham, NY, Karen M. Kelly of Stone Ridge, NY, and Anne Marie Comeau of Plymouth, VT; and her two sons, Michael Comeau of Harwich and Joseph Comeau of Morehead City, NC; along with 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas M. Alden. Elizabeth was a 1949 graduate of Whitman High School and a graduate of Catherine Laboure (Carney) School of Nursing in Dorchester. She then went on to raise her family in Red Hook, NY. Elizabeth and her family spent many summers vaca tioning in Chatham, Cape Cod. Elizabeth also worked in real estate and had many hobbies such as sewing, crafts, history and being an avid reader. A graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m., July 19, 2014 at St. James Cemetery, Whitman, with a celebration of life immediately following at Camerons, Route 14, East Bridgewater.
