Bohdan A. "Dan" Czahar , 97, a longtime resident of Raynham, MA, died at Morton Hospital in Taunton, on Monday, July 21, 2014. He was the husband of the late Vera (Lewin) Czahar. Predeceased by his loving parents, Aga and Tatiana (Labias) Czahar, as well as his brother Abdul Ali Czahar. He was born and raised in Baku, Persia before coming to the United States in the 1950s. Dan leaves behind his loving children, son Gregory A. Czahar, and his wife Ellen Ivy Czahar of Taunton, MA, and his daughter, Victoria J. Czahar and her fianc Wayne E. Clark, Jr. of Granville, MA. He also leaves behind his longtime companion Mary Hoye, and his dedicated caregiver, Dianne Pepin, both of Taunton, Mass. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed to fish and walk area flea markets. He took great pleasure in raising purebred German Shepards. After moving to the area, he raised chickens on his property. He opened one of the first Volkswagen dealerships on Route 44, in Raynham. Dan was a member of the Raynham Lions Club and was a former King Lion. He and his wife Vera opened a successful real estate business called Dan A. Czahar Realtors in 1962 and ran it for 40 years. Dan was known to many in the area as The Man with the Famous Continental Touch. He was a member of the North Bristol County Board of Realtors, eventually becoming its President, as well as receiving the honor of being voted Realtor of the Year. Dan was also a member of the National Association of Certified Real Estate Appraisers and the National Hypnotist Guild. Temple service at Congregation Agudath Achim, 36 Winthrop St., Taunton, on Thursday, July 24, at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, 26 Glebe St., Taunton.
