Stephen P. Flanders, of Bridgewater, died July 24, 2014 in the Colony House in Abington afer a long illness at the age of 65. Stephen was born in Fitchburg, son of the late Bernice J. (Lanoue) and Maurice Flanders. Mr. Flanders was raised in Stoughton and Brockton, attended Brockton and Stoughton Schools and also attended Fischer College. He was a truck driver who worked for Hercules Trucking, Trojan Dumpsters and Butler Paving. Steve was also a Marine Vietnam Veteran, a baseball coach for the Brockton Little League, Colt and Pony League for many years, a member of the Club National, Lions Club in Whitman and the VFW Post #1046 in Brockton. Husband of Susan J. (Macdonald) Flanders. Father of Mark Joseph Flanders of Norwell and John Robert Flanders of Marblehead. Brother of Wayne Flanders and his wife Jane of Port Charlotte, FL and Susan M. Flanders of Brockton. Grandfather of Jillian, Tess, Kaitlyn, Maxwell and Paige. Stephen is also survived by several aunts, cousins and many dear friends. Funeral service in the the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, Tuesday at 11:00am.
