Kenneth J. Tyrrell Sr., 68, of East Bridgewater died peacefully Aug. 24. Ken was the loving son of the late George and Florence (Stafford) Tyrrell and grew up in Canton. He was the former husband of the late Betty (Walls) Tyrrell. Ken worked for Winchester Industries and General Dynamics and had been a policeman, a firefighter, a mechanic and a taxi driver among other things, but had been disabled for many years after overcoming polio as a child. Ken was a skilled handyman and was great at woodworking, mechanics, solving electrical problems, and small engine repairs. He was also a longtime member of the East Bridgewater Commercial Club and member of Bridgewater Baptist Church. Ken was the loving father of Nellie M. Tyrrell of East Bridgewater, Kenneth J. Tyrrell of East Bridgewater, Naomi A. Nelson and her husband Kevin of Mansfield, and Martin G. Tyrrell and his wife Karen of East Bridgewater; Pa of Joseph, Jamie and her husband Duane, Kenny, Jimmy, Kylie, Daniel, Collin, Samantha, and great-granddaughter, Marianela; brother of Mary and her husband Richard Roberts, Florence, George, Jimmy, and Eddie and his wife Sara.
