Middleboro D'Wayne A. Aukstikalnis, age 47 years, of Middleboro, formerly of Brockton, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Boston Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was born in Brockton, Sept. 19, 1960, a beloved son of John C. and Susan M. (O'Co-nnell) Aukstikalnis of Lakeville. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1978, receiving the Norman B. Nash Chemistry Award. He had attended Massasoit Community College for two years. He had been employed as a construction worker, building many custom homes in the New England area, for 27 years. He remained an avid reader, especially non-fiction. He enjoyed many years of fishing with his friends, and watching the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed movies and motorcycles. Survivors include his parents, John and Susan of Lakeville; two sons, Adam (Aukstikalnis) Chapman of Abington and Mark Aukstikalnis of Rhode Island; his companion, Bonnie Wishart of Middleboro; three sisters, Lori Aukstikalnis of Acushnet, Gail Rockwood of Middleboro, Dawn and her husband Robert Couto of Lakeville; two grandsons; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and former wife, Ellen (Aukstikalnis) Chapman of Middleboro. A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St., Middleboro, Monday, April 28, at 10 a.m. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleboro.
