Jimmy was someone with so many accomplishments yet he never bragged about them. He was a real man. Veteran & fireman, he was responsible for human lives yet he was just a simple, great guy. He recently let my son sit in his fire truck which was such a thrill. Little did I know, this would be the last time I spent with him. May God bless him and his family. He will be sadly missed by so many of his close friends.

I served with Jim on the USS Fife. He was a great guy. He worked the overnights in the mess and as the smells of his skillful baking wafted through the passageways, those working those long nights would inevitably be drawn to Jim and he would never disappoint with fresh bread or cookies. He was always there to share a tale to unwind after a really long day. Fair winds and following seas my friend, my shipmate.

I served with Jimmy on board the USS Fife many years ago. He was a good cook, a great shipmate, and a friend that was there for me during the times one needed a friend. There isn't enough time in the day to tell the many stories about the time we spent overseas. You are gone shipmate, but not forgotten. God Speed.
