Vanessa Grace Gorman, age 32 years, of Lakeville died suddenly Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Born Sept. 8, 1978, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of Michael J. Sr. and Elizabeth Ann (Doherty) Gorman of Lakeville. Vanessa was a 1997 graduate of Apponequet High School and earned her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a bachelor's degree in Psychology at Bridgewater State College. She was a lifelong resident of Lakeville and worked as a behavioral specialist at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital, and as a special needs teacher at Edward F. Leddy Elementary School in Taunton. She enjoyed traveling, working with kids and loved to dance and shop. In high school, she played many sports and remained an avid sports fan. In addition to her father and mother, she is survived by her grandmother, Ann Doherty; three brothers, Michael J. Gorman Jr. of Lakeville, Daniel W. Gorman of Taunton and Dustin T. Gorman of New Bedford; two sisters, Michelle E. Gorman of Lakeville and Alanna L. Gorman of Lakeville; nieces and nephews, Jacob and Kristy Gorman, Caleb, Collin and Ava Redlon and Logan Fernandes; and three uncles and one aunt. She was also the granddaughter of the late William Doherty and Michael and Grace Gorman. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Church of Our Savior Episcopal Church, 120 Centre St., Middleboro. Visitation will take place Sunday, March 13, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville.
