Donald Arthur Boucher, age 61 years, lifelong resident of Middleboro, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Jordan Hospital, Plymouth. He was the beloved husband of Gabriele (Hartmann) Boucher; they had been married for 41 years. He was the son of the late Vincent A. and Ellen (Quigley) Boucher. Born and educated in Middleboro, Donald went on to served in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War. He was the superintendent for the Department of Public Works, Middleboro, for 36 years, and had retired in July of 2009. He attended Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro. Donalds hobbies included gardening, boating, fishing, riding his motorcycle, spending time with family and his dog Bandit. Survivors include his wife Gabriele of 41 years; one brother, Edward Ted Boucher of Middleboro; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Visiting hours will be held Friday, July 1, in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, from the Ashley Funeral Home at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St., Middleboro, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Middleboro.
