Hilde J. (Plant) Blyzniuk, age 88 years, of Brockton died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Dimitro Blyzniuk. Born Thursday, Sept. 28, 1922, in Bocholt, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johan and Franciszka (Jungkamp) Plant. Hilde had lived in Brockton for the past 52 years. In the 1960s, she worked at FootJoy as a stitcher and then for the Hermitite Co. in Avon until retiring in 1984. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was also a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brockton. She is survived by a daughter, Annette Wilkinson and her husband Eric of Brockton; four grandchildren, Christina Caparotta, Christopher Brown, Timothy Brown and Laura Brown; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Erna Rudnickas of Brockton and Ursel Schmitz and her husband Alphons of Bocholt, Germany; two nieces and three nephews. She was also the mother of the late Detlef Blyzniuk. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 906 North Main St., Brockton, MA 02301.
