Obituary Condolences

Mary G. (Nicoli) Baroni of Bridgewater and East Dennis died peacefully Jan. 18, at the age of 98. She will be greatly missed. Mary was the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Augusta (Cocchi) Nicoli and was raised in Plymouth. She will always be remembered for her good nature, kind heart, passion for helping others and beautiful smile. She attended Plymouth schools and started working at an early age as a bookkeeper. She married the late Hugo Baroni on April 11, 1937, and the two raised their family in Bridgewater and summered in the town of Dennis on Cape Cod. Mary continued using her bookkeeping skills working in the family business, the Holiday Hill gift shop, restaurant, and miniature golf in Dennisport. She continued to work in the business into her 80s. Mary enjoyed traveling and visited family in the Bologna region of Italy numerous times. She was proud of her Italian heritage and loved cooking and baking for family and friends. She was a member of the Catholic Womens Club at St. Thomas Aquinas in Bridgewater and the Womens Guild at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster, where she volunteered at the thrift store. She was at her happiest when surrounded by her family. Her unconditional love and admiration for her family will never be forgotten. Mary was the loving mother of Philip J. Baroni and Carol L. Williams of Dennis and the late Barbara L. Fritz and John R. Baroni. She was the proud Nanie of 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; and was predeceased by grandson, Gregory Baroni. Mary was the mother-in-law of Laura Baroni of East Dennis, Rachel Baroni of Dennis, Gerhard Fritz of Bridgewater and Dennis Williams of Virginia. She was the proud sister of the late Vincent Nicoli and Louise Proffetty. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special caretakers who adored her kind spirit, wit and positive outlook.
