Beverly A. (Inglis) Flynn, 71, of Bourne, MA and Naples, FL, formerly of Raynham, MA, died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 after living 27 years with metastatic breast cancer. Beverly was the loving wife of John B. Flynn for 45 years. She will be forever missed by her daughter Bridget A. Flynn and son-in-law Michael J. Eatough of Fairhaven, MA. She was predeceased by her son, Shawn Patrick Flynn. The youngest of eight children, Beverly was born in Rockland to the late William M. and Ethel (Blakeman) Inglis. Beverly leaves behind a sister, Shirley Higgins of Onset, MA, and was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Fosdick, Helen Akerblom, and Lucille Welch, as well as, brothers William J., Richard, and Alfred Inglis. Beverly was first and foremost a loving wife and mother. After both of her children finished college, Beverly returned to school, at age 58, to earn her GED. Beverly won the affections of her younger classmates and was chosen as commencement speaker. She later attended Cape Cod Community College. Beverly also served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Societys Reach to Recovery providing hope to others facing breast cancer, as well as, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. After the death of her son, Beverly worked tirelessly raising money to fully endow a scholarship in Shawns name at his alma mater. Beverly will be remembered for her easy-going spirit, positive attitude towards life, and compassion for others. She enjoyed the beautiful Cape Cod and Florida beaches, going boating with her husband and friends, digging for clams and quahogs in Buzzards Bay, spending time at the beach house in Humarock, playing dominos, and staying in touch with friends and family on Facebook. Beverlys family would like to thank all her caregivers at Hope Hospice and Tufts Medical Center, particularly Gary M. Strauss, M.D. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville, MA. A funeral service will be held at Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl Street, Brockton, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eastern Nazarene College, Office of Development, 23 East Elm Avenue, Quincy, MA 02170.
