Allyn "Ruth" Garabedian (King), of East Bridgewater, died peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2013 surrounded by her loving family; a mere 5 days short of her 90th birthday. Ruth was born and raised in Brockton but relocated to her adopted hometown of East Bridgewater, in the winter of 1943. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Paul A. Garabedian for 64 years and is survived by Susan and Barry Hall of Sandwich, Ma, Paula and Andy Turner of No. Dartmouth, Ma, Allyn Kingman and Dean Weber of Hanson, Ma., Ann and Pat Kingman of East Bridgewater, Ma., Maryanne and Dennis Fleury of Middleboro, Ma. and Paul Garabedian of Colorado. She is also survived and adored by 15 grandchildren and 14 (soon to be 15) great-grandchildren. After working 20 years for the H.P. Hood Company, Ruth landed her dream job at C.N. Smith Farm. She became a fixture at the farm for over 25 years, as rooted in the place as the flowers and vegetables they sold. Along with being a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her, Ruth was also a communicant of St. Johns church as well as an active member of the Catholic Womens Club. Her life was rich with the love of family, which served as the very foundation of her existence. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater on Tuesday, March 19 at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John's Church, East Bridgewater at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery.
