William B. Grant, 85, of South St., died Monday, April 29, 2013, in the Life Care of Auburn in Auburn, after an illness. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Margie D. (Roth) Grant; three sons, Edward Grant of Hawaii, William Grant and his wife Cathy of Deerfield, N.H., and Charles Grant and his wife Jill of Woodstock, Conn.; two daughters, Deborah Grant of Chesapeake, Va., and Abigail Baggarly and her husband David of Southbridge; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Grant in 2006. He was born in Brockton, the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Boardman) Grant. William worked as an equipment installer for the former AT&T for 37 years before retiring. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served on the USS Black during World War II. William was a Freemason and a member of the May Flower Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Middleborough. He was also a Patron of the Eastern Star. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening. William was a great handyman around the house and was everyone's friend. A private graveside service will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. www.morrillfuneralhome.com
