Obituary Condolences

John E. Papa ODonnell, of Avon, passed away Aug. 14, at the age of 84. Born in Boston, John was raised and educated in South Boston and was a resident of Avon for 60 years. He worked for the U.S. Government Purchasing Department. John enjoyed animals, collecting coins, and traveling. He was a U.S. Marine Korean War veteran. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Creighton) ODonnell; loving father of Charlene Palmer and her husband Robert of Brockton, Diane Forte-Shea and her husband Daniel of Avon, and John ODonnell of Taunton; dear brother of Virginia Martin of Stoughton, Frances Tagilione of Walpole, and the late Frank Willey; cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Julia, Daniel, Andrew, and Brenna; and great-grandfather of Olivia. Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, Monday at 9:45 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Michaels Church, Avon, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 p.m. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Johns name can be sent to the MSPCA, 1300 W. Elm St. Ext., Brockton, MA 02301.
