Norman E. Melendy, 45, a lifelong resident of West Bridgewater, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston. He was the companion of Robin Ribeiro of Rockland. Born in Stoughton on Feb. 18, 1968, a son of the late Clyde J. and Arlene (LaVerne) Melendy, he was raised in West Bridgewater and was a graduate of Southeastern Regional High School in Easton. He began working as a mechanic for Paul Clark Ford and after he was employed as a DOT Inspector for Haps Auto Service of Brockton. His hobbies included fishing, hiking and nature and he enjoyed the company of his cat Sam. In addition to his companion, he is survived by three sisters, Doris Singh of East Taunton, Patti Owen of West Bridgewater, and Virginia Corriera of West Bridgewater; a brother, Clyde Melendy Jr. of Attleboro; a lifelong friend, Deb Williams of Easton; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend memorial gathering on Saturday from 2 - 5 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138), Easton.
