Obituary Condolences

Clara M. (Wychunas) Galvin, 92, of Chelmsford, formerly of Brockton, died Dec. 6, 2013. A 1942 graduate of the Childrens Hospital School of Nursing, she went on to earn a Masters degree in education from Bridgewater State College. A U.S. Army nurse during WWII, she spent 2 years in Europe as 1st Lieutenant during the Battle of the Bulge. Clara worked at Massasoit College for many years until her retirement at 65. She spent most of her life living in the Montello section of Brockton and was a communicant of St. Casimir Church. Clara was the wife of the late Timothy J. Galvin; beloved mother of Dennis Galvin and his wife Kathleen of Westford and Kathleen M. Galvin and her husband Michael Costanza of Charlottesville, Virginia; loving grandmother of Patrick and Kevin Costanza and Joseph, Timothy, Daniel and Katherine Galvin; great-grandmother of Coraline Galvin and the sister of the late Charles Wychunas. All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 3 -7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Wednesday at 8 a.m., funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Church, Brockton. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
