Joseph Joey Pedro Monsini III, 57, of Pawtucket, R.I., formerly of West Bridgewater, Mass., passed Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at home, under the loving care of his parents, Joseph and Josephine Monsini, his sister and caregiver, Christine Moreau, his nieces, Nichole OConnell, Cecilia Geloran and Samantha Moreau, and his aunts and uncles, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was also cared for during his illness by his longtime friend, Bruce Dyl. Joey is survived by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Monsini of Taunton, Mass.; four sisters, Linda Cumberledge of Taunton, Mary Francis Foscaldi of Bridgewater, Mass., Grace Rickell of Taunton and Christine Moreau of West Bridgewater, Mass.; one brother, Alfred Monsini of West Bridgewater. In addition to his parents and siblings, he is survived by 14 nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. Joey was a graduate of West Bridgewater High School, Class of 1974. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. He worked as a chemist for Arthur D. Little in Boston. He also worked for UPS in Alexandria, Va. He enjoyed vacationing on the coast of Maine, bird watching, fishing, playing pool and spending time at the casino. Joey ceaselessly battled cancer for three years and during that time he lived each day as though it were his last. Joey had an indestructible spirit and fought valiantly until the end. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend a memorial Mass at Christ the King Parish (formerly St. Colmans Family Parish), 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton, Mass., Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 6 p.m.
