Richard Eames Obituary

Richard Edward Eames, age 65, died suddenly Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at his home in Foxborough. He was the son of the late Ralph and Mildred (Perkins) Eames; beloved husband of Christine (Hannon) Eames; loving father of Richard E. Eames Jr. of Quincy, Kerri Griffin of Milton and Ryan M. Eames of Boston; devoted grandfather to Shawn, Kaylee and Ryan; brother of the late Roger Eames; nephew of the late Violet Phillips; cousin of Steven Phillips of Raymond, Maine. Richard was born in Boston, June 7, 1947. He was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1965, and Newbury College in Boston. He proudly served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He and his wife Christine were married at the Toll House in Whitman on April 25, 1981. He was a thoughtful and caring husband. He loved to travel and was a great planner of many adventures. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He was also an avid NASCAR, country music and New England Patriots fan. Richard worked for Honeywell Information Systems and F.E.M.A. for many years. He was a member of the Foxborough American Legion Post 93. He was a member of the board of directors and coach for both the St. Marys C.Y.O. Basketball League and the Foxborough Youth Soccer Association. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours Sunday, April 14, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxborough. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Marys Church, Foxborough. Interment to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
