Martin Alfred Fallon, of Walpole, Maine, passed away on the morning of Aug. 19, 2013, at age 93. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Keaney), he was the devoted father of Patricia Laramee of Fitzwilliam, N.H., Mark Fallon and his wife Anne of Nashua, N.H., Michael Fallon of Dumfries, Va., Julia Worth and her husband Alan of Weymouth, Dennis Fallon and his wife Patricia of Washington, N.H., and the late Kieran Fallon. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Marty served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, and in his later years became a Deacon in the Catholic church. He first served as Deacon at St. Pablos Church in Marathon, Fla., until he moved his family to Maine. He then served as Deacon at St. Patricks Church of Newcastle, Maine, for many years until he retired in 2011. He spent much of his life, and his retirement years, doing what he loved best - painting. Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta, Maine. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 23, at St. Patricks Church, 380 Academy Hill Road, Newcastle, Maine. Interment will follow at St. Patricks Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception in the church hall immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to MARC, (Monroe Association for ReMARCable Citizens, Inc.), P.O. Box 428, Key West, FL 33041-0428, Attn: Gordon Ross. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta, Maine.
