Bruce W. Wilds, 66, of Rockland, formerly of Whitman and Norwell, passed away at South Shore Hospital, Monday, Sept. 23, with his family at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a graduate of Norwell High School, Class of 1965. He worked for DJ Cutter in Dorchester as a machinist from the time he was 16 years old up until he retired 5 years ago. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force
and proudly served in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Nancy L (Hill); his five children, Bruce Wilds of Deltaville, Va., Carisa Foster of Bridgewater, Andrew Wilds of Bridgewater, Jennifer McAloney of Hanson, Derek Wilds of Rockland and their spouses. He will be sorely missed by his eight grandchildren, Keighla, Brooke, Ethan, Alex, Amelia, Kamdyn, Addison and Drew. He also leaves behind a sister, Linda Weber of Norwell; along with many family members and friends. He was the son of the late Bruce Wilds and Anne Wilds. He was also the brother of the late Carol Wilds. A celebration of his life will be held at Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell, Monday, Sept. 30, at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South Shore Visiting Nurses Association, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA 02370.
