Dante "Danny" A. Lauretto, of Quincy, died Sunday, Dec. 29 at the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham. He was 97. Mr. Lauretto was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" (Mosesso) Lauretto. Born in Quincy on Aug. 16, 1916, Mr. Lauretto was the son of the late Guistino and Amerina (DiLorenzo) Lauretto. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1934 and worked as a Rigger for Bethlehem Steel and General Dynamics at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy for 43 years. He also worked part-time as a Wallpaper Hanger. Prior to working at the shipyard, Mr. Lauretto was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp., and a volunteer tour guide for the Quincy historical Society. He was a Holy Name Church member and usher at St. Joseph Church in Quincy for over 30 years. Mr. Lauretto was also a Past Venerable and lifetime member of the Quincy Sons of Italy, a member of the St. John's Senior Citizens Group and a member of the Ward 2 Civic Association. Mr. Lauretto is survived by his children, David Lauretto of Chatham, Rosemarie Girolamo and her husband Allessandro "Al" of Norfolk and Richard Lauretto and his wife Colette of Pembroke. He is also survived by his sister, Eva Brior of Florida, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held in St. Joseph Church, 550 Washington St., Quincy on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 2 - 6 p.m. in the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy. Interment will be private.
