Doris M. (Jones) Long, of Greenacres, Florida, originally of East Braintree, passed away on Aug. 12, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla. She was 81. The daughter of Albert R. Jones and Mary Ethel (Hennebury) Jones, she was a proud graduate of Braintree High Schools class of 1950. After graduation she married Malcolm Long (deceased) and was a devoted wife and mother. She retired from Floridas Palm Beach County Sheriffs Department in 2007. She loved mysteries, doing crosswords and crocheting but most of all, she loved her family. She is survived by her children, Michael Long and his wife Susan, Bruce Long, Dianne Peterson and her husband Michael, Mark Long, and Deborah Beckman and her husband Gerry. She was predeceased by her sons Malcolm and Mitchell. Survivors also include her siblings Carol Satkus and her husband Jerry of Duxbury, Alan Jones of Hanover, and Robert (Bobby) Jones of Alexandria, VA. She is predeceased by her brothers Albert (Buck) Jones Jr. of Hanson, and Norman Jones of Rockland. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many great friends. The family wishes to extend eternal gratitude to her cousin, Marion Hennebury of Greenacres, Fla. and her faithful friend, Gloria Hambright of West Palm Beach, Fla. who were with her until the end. A celebration of Doriss life will be held graveside at Fern Hill Cemetery, on High Street in Hanson, MA at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013.
