Dorothy L. Kelly

Dorothy Lillian (LeFave) Kelly, 80, of East Falmouth passed away on December 14th. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Lillian LeFave and Martin MacDonald. After marrying her late husband, Michael F. Kelly, she settled in Dorchester and raised her seven children. She was a hair stylist by trade and during the 1970s and 1980s, she owned and operated Shampoo Hair Salon in Hyde Park. She moved her family to North Quincy in 1977; in 1987, after retiring, moved to East Falmouth. She overcame much adversity during her lifetime and will be remembered as a courageous woman with immeasurable strength and faith. She was deeply loved and will be missed by many. She is survived by her sons, Bruce Kelly of Framingham and Stephen Kelly and wife Jean of East Falmouth; her daughter Karen Kelly of Provincetown; plus several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four children, Dennis J. Kelly, who died in 1988; Michael B. Kelly who died in 1997; Paula W. Murphy, who died in 2008 and David P. Kelly, who died earlier this year. Visitation hours will be held at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Falmouth, MA 02540 on December 19th from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.; followed by a funeral service also at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home.
