George F. Grimes Jr., of Spring Hill, Fla., formerly of Scituate and Jamaica Plain, passed away with his family at his side on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at age 64. Beloved husband of Barbara (Reichert). Devoted father of Kristen Ina Grimes, PhD. and her husband Tim Silvia. Grandfather of Ina Madison and Marco Timothy. Survived by a sister, two brothers and many nieces and nephews. George worked in international telecommunications at AT&T and Sprint. A graduate of Northeastern and Rutgers Universities. Veteran of the Vietnam War, retired from the US Army as Command Sergeant Major, Member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are kindly invited. On Saturday there will be a Funeral Service at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
