Harold R. Knight

Harold "Harry" Ralph Knight, 88, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Weymouth, passed away Jan. 18, 2014, at Mayflower Place in West Yarmouth, of natural causes. Born Feb. 21, 1925, in Cambridge, he was the beloved husband of Dolores C. Knight of West Yarmouth; father of Pamela J. Knight of Hull and his late son Harold W. Knight. He is survived by his two sisters, Margaret Daniele of Quincy and Jean Lawlor of Weymouth. He was the brotehr of the late Muriel Whitney of Bethel, Maine. Also survived by two grandchildren, William and Bonnie Murphy. He was formerly married to the late Isabelle (MacKenzie) Knight. At 17, Harry joined the Navy and served in World War II in the Pacific. He became Lieutenant of the Weymouth Police Department in a career that spanned 32 years. After his retirement his love for the water and boating led him to be Wharfinger on Bass River in Yarmouth until he was 80 years young.
