Joseph J. Acquaviva

Joseph Pippi J. Acquaviva, age 86, entered into eternal life on Sept. 21, 2013. Joe was born and raised in East Boston and lived in Hanover for 45 years before moving to Weymouth 7 years ago.. Mr. Acquaviva served in the Army during WWII. He worked for the US. Postal Service at the South Boston Annex for 37 years. Joe was a member of the American Legion Cummings Post in Hanover, the Weymouth Lodge of Elks, and the Knights of Columbus Council 6267 in Pembroke. He enjoyed dancing and going to Nantasket Beach. Son of the late Gaetano and Caroline (Cece) Acquaviva. Beloved husband of the late Lillian R. (Stillman). Devoted father of Helen Paris and her husband Steven of Marshfield, Lillian Reardon and her husband Michael of Rockland, Louise Ouelette and her husband Jay of Rockland, Dorothy Acquaviva of Middleboro, Christine Tinkham and her husband Roy of Pembroke, and Paula Acquaviva of Brockton. He is survived by his companion of 4 years, Claire LaRocco of Weymouth. Beloved brother of Caroline Hamilton of Revere, Esther Spagnolo of Revere, the late Anna Musto, Rita Presterone, Josephine Triolzi, Rose Holdren, Jerry, Sebastian, and Anthony Acquaviva. Loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Clancy-Lucid funeral Home, 100 Washington Street, Weymouth on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 8:45 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 until 9 p.m. Burial in Hanover Center Cemetery is private.
