Joseph J. Battista Jr.

Joseph J. Battista Jr. of Braintree, formerly of Rockland and Granby, died Dec. 2, at the Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation in Braintree after a long illness. He was raised and educated in Rockland and was the beloved son of Florence M. (Reidy) of Braintree and the late Joseph J. Battista Sr. Joseph is also survived by his brother, John P. Battista; and sister, Mary A. Battista, both of Braintree. He was a graduate of Bridgewater State College and received his masters degree from the UMass-Amherst. He was a professor and administrator at the University of Massachusetts for many years. Joseph enjoyed traveling and was an avid postcard and antique collector. Services for Joseph were private.
