Kathleen A. (Dolan) (Parkinson) Thompson, 60, of Hanson passed away Saturday, March 9, surrounded by her family after a long illness. Kathy was born and raised in Abington and had lived in Hanson for the past 34 years. Kathy graduated from Abington High School, Class of 1971. Kathy enjoyed spending her time with family and friends and was an avid cribbage player. Kathy will be remembered for her kind heart, witty sense of humor and living life to the fullest. She is survived by her husband of 22 years Jerome A. Thompson of Hanson; her son, Richard Parkinson of Abington, and his sons, Cole and Gabriel; her daughter, Jilliane (Parkinson) Vail and her husband Judson, and their children, Judson IV and Emma Kathleen; stepson, Jerome A. Thompson Jr. and his wife Tracy of Hanson, and their three sons. She was the daughter of Grace Eva Dolan and the late Stanley J. Dolan of Abington; sister of Bette Inman and her husband Ernest of Meredith, N.H., Nancy DiMonte and her husband Ralph of Hyannis, Judith Gentile and her husband Christopher of Nashua, N.H., the late Michael Dolan of Abington , Stanley P. Dolan of Abington, Daniel Dolan of Holbrook. Kathy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 13, from 4-8 p.m. at Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 4 W. Washington St., Hanson. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Josephs the Worker Catholic Church in Hanson. Cremation will follow the funeral Mass and burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cranberry Hospice in Kathys honor.
