Rita E. (Finerty) MacKenzie, former owner of MacKenzies Jenney Station, died at John Adams House, Quincy, Tuesday, April 3, 2012. She was 89 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Milton, she was a graduate of Roxbury Girls Latin School. For many years, she and her late husband, Leonard, owned and operated MacKenzies Jenney Station on Randolph Avenue, Milton, across from Saint Elizabeths Church. Mrs. MacKenzie was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Milton for many years. She was the wife of the late Leonard W. MacKenzie; daughter of the late Francis J. and Mary (Foran) Finerty; sister of Paul M. Finerty of Medfield and the late Mary McDermott, Francis J. Finerty Jr., Patricia Steele, Richard Finerty and Gerald Finerty; sister-in-law of Kay Finerty of Milton and Glenda Finerty of Tucson, Ariz. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Church, Milton, Tuesday, April 10, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., Milton, Monday 5-8 p.m. Interment Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ritas memory may be made to Alzheimers Assn., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472-2782, or Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 970025, Boston, MA 02297-0025.
