Robert K. Hakala, of Marlboro, formerly of Weymouth, passed away Nov. 3, 2012 at the age of 59. Bob worked as a pressman for Gatehouse Media in Framingham for many years. An avid outdoors man, Bob enjoyed many family vacations camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Other interests included reading, history, photography and working on muscle cars. Bob was quiet, funny, gracious, generous to a fault and cherished time with his family. Beloved husband of Karen E. (Buresh) Hakala. Loving father of Robert K. Hakala Jr. and wife Laurie Kirby of Hull, Kimberly A. Balasco and husband Andrew of Carver, and Lauren E. Hakala of Melrose. Devoted "Papa" to his one year old grandson Kellan Balasco. Son of the late Fredrik and Doris Hakala. Brother of David F. Hakala of CA and Bruce A. Hakala of NH. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home, South Weymouth, at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.).
