Stanley G. Solberg

Stanley G. Solberg of Weymouth, a retired town employee, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at the Colonial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was 87 years of age. Beloved husband of Margaret M. (Smith) Solberg, he was the devoted father of Maureen E. Solberg of Medford, Margaret Penny Ahl of Weymouth and Donald Butch Howell of Roslindale; brother of Marion Winters of Chicopee and the late Harold and Leonard Solberg; proud and loving Pepa to 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by three nephews. Stanley had spent most of his life in Weymouth. He was proud of his service with the 54th armored infantry battalion, US.. Army during World War II. He was a retired meter installer for the town of Weymouth Water Dept. Stan enjoyed animals, especially his German Shepherd dogs. He was a member of the Viking Club and the Weymouth Elks. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the McDonald Funeral Home, corner Middle and Charles Sts. (at 3 Charles St.), East Weymouth, Wednesday morning 9-11 a.m. Funeral service to follow immediately at 11 a.m. and burial with honors in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 1:15.
