Virginia F. Hourihan

Virginia F. (McViney) Hourihan, age 93, of Quincy, passed away Dec. 3, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted homemaker and the family matriarch, keeping the extended family up-to-date on everyone. She was born in Cambridge and lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Quincy 46 years ago. She was the daughter of Penelope and Francis J. McViney. Wife of the late Joseph L. Hourihan, she is survived by three sons, Joseph of Ringgold, GA, Dennis and his wife Jo-Anne of Marshfield, Kevin and his wife Vinette of Marshfield and a daughter, Nancy of Quincy; six grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Tara of Pink Hill, NC, Craig, Corey, Olivia and Sophia of Marshfield and Carrie Stack of Lynn; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew of Pink Hill, NC. She was also the sister of Dorothy Ready of Somerset and the late Paul McViney, Ruth Christiano and Albert McViney. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Ann's Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy, Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11:15 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
