Muriel D. Austin

Muriel D. (Lamprey) Austin, 82, of North Falmouth, died at Royal Megansett Nursing Home on March 10, 2010. She was the wife of the late Walter H. Austin to whom she was married for 51 years. Mrs. Austin was born and raised in Quincy. She graduated from Quincy High School and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. In 1954 she married and later moved to Hingham, where she raised her family. She was an avid quilter and a member of the Hingham Quilting Society and the Holly Berry Quilters of Cape Cod. She was a Director of the Barnstable County Agricultural Society. She is survived by her children, Diane Besse of North Falmouth, Richard Austin of Plympton, Linda Andrewski of Mashpee, and Sandra Costa of East Falmouth; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and a brother, Ralph Lamprey of Florida. Visiting hours will be from 2 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2010 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy. (Rte 28A), West Falmouth. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at North Falmouth Cemetery, Old Main Rd., North Falmouth.
