Dorothy Morcom Obituary

Rockland Dorothy P. (Perry) Morcom, 89 years of age, passed on to Eternal Life on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Wingate at Silver Lake Nursing Facility in Kingston. She was born in Braintree and was a graduate of Braintree High School class of 1936. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Braintree. She resided in Rockland for the past three years and had formerly resided in Centerville for thirty-one years and prior to that had lived in Braintree. She was a Sports enthusiast and loved watching the Red Sox, Golfing events especially with Tiger Woods, the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. She was devoted to her family and was known as the Central Hub for family information and family life. She is survived by three loving children: Pamela M. Ohman married to Carl Ohman of Kingston, Deborah M. Spratley married to Richard Spratley of Rockland and John S. Morcom married to Valerie Morcom of Warner, NH. She is the beloved grandmother of Lisa Palma married to John Palma of Kingston, Erik Ohman married to Susan Ohman of Weymouth, Kristen Smith married to Peter Smith of Kingston, Heidi Scamman of Halifax, Kerry Sullivan married to Kevin Sullivan of Rockland, Jason Spratley married to Heather Spratley of Watertown, Ben Morcom of New London, NH, Max Dowling of Concord NH and Ammon Dowling of Canterbury, NH. Mrs. Morcom was the very proud great-grandmother of twenty great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be private with burial at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. The Reverend S. Chapin Garner of the United Church of Christ in Norwell will officiate. Arrangements are by the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home- 516 Washington Street Braintree. Memorial Donations in memory of Dorothy Morcom may be sent to the charity of the donors choice.
