Blanche Veno Obituary

Blanche E. Veno, a resident of Norwell for 5 years, formerly of Brockton for over 10 years and Westwood for over 30 years, died Sunday at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Center, after a long illness. She was 91. Blanche was born in Boston. She was the daughter of the late James and Gladys (Westcott) Livingston. Blanche graduated from Hyde Park High School and was a Tape Librarian for Factory Mutual Engineering Company. She retired in 1982 after 14 years with the company. Blanche was a Past Noble Grand for the Rebekah Progressive Lodge #34 and a member of Rosalie Rebekah Lodge #116 in Medway. She volunteered at the Westwood Senior Center answering phones and setting up their newsletter, Friends of Westwood Council of Aging and the United Church of Norwood Women's Guild. Blanche loved to do needlepoint, cross stitch, arts and crafts. Loving wife of the late Ralph O. Veno. She is survived by her family Karen R. Ryder of St. George, UT, Roberta B. Poli of Weymouth, J. Robin Bidanset of Duxbury, Sandra Southworth of Naperville, IL, Sharon Holt of Methuen, and Steven Veno of Leominster: her sister Sylvia Raymond of Massena, N.Y., her brothers Herbert Livingston of Billings, MT, and George Livingston of Port Charlotte, FL. She is also survived by 9 grand and 11 great-grandchildren. Mother of the late Ralph G. Hurlbert. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, 4 - 8 p.m. at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols St., Norwood. Funeral service Friday at 12 p.m. at the United Church of Norwood, 595 Washington St., Norwood. Burial in New Westwood Cemetery, Westwood. Donations in Blanche's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA. 02472.

Sorry to read of Blanche's passing. She was a friend of my mother's then we became friends and I introduced her to PWP.
