Albert Bucky Jones Jr. of Hanson, passed away on March 14, surrounded by his children. He was 82 years old. Bucky is survived by his loving children Patti Marcus and her husband Lorry, of Walnut Creek, CA, Lauren Kingston and her husband Mark, of Rockland and David Alan Jones of Rochester. Bucky was the proud grandfather of Katie, Jesse and Alex Marcus of CA, Matthew Marini of CA, Matthew Adams of VA, Erin Tracey and her husband Thomas of Hanson, Abby Kingston of Rockland, and David Alan Jones, Jr. of Oak Bluffs. He leaves behind his great-grandchildren Jacob, Tristan and Callie Adams and Luke and Olivia Tracey. Bucky is the brother of Doris Long, Robert Jones, Allen Jones, Carolann Satkus and the late Norman Jones. He is also survived by his beloved horse, Abby. Born on February 16 1931 in Braintree, he was the son of the late Albert R. and Mary Ethel Jones. Bucky served our country as a member of the United States Army in the Korean War. Bucky moved to Hanson and had called it home since 1967. He was a long time member of the Hanson Kiwanis. Bucky started his career as an auto mechanic 60 years ago repairing VW Bugs. In 1962, he started his own business, Jones Foreign Auto Repair. Buckys passion was raising and showing horses. He was a member of the Hanson Riding Club and the South Shore Horsemans Council. He loved nature and fishing with his grandchildren. Some of Buckys other enjoyments were Western movies and Ballroom Dancing. Bucky will be loved and remembered by all who have known him. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 19, from 4 - 8 p.m. at Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 4 W. Washington St., Hanson. A gathering will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20. Burial will follow the gathering in Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson.
