Alexander Bunar Jr. Obituary
Alexander Bunar Jr., 83, of Hanson, passed away peacefully at Benchmark Sr. Living in Plymouth, on September 9, 2018. Alexander was born on May 11, 1935 to Alexander and Sophie (Divonis) Bunar, a Russian immigrant and daughter of Russian immigrants. He grew up in Whitman, where he graduated from Whitman High School, was a captain of the football team and played ice hockey. He was a center on the Whitman Town football team for many years. He served in the Army overseas during the post-Korean War occupation. He married Nancy Lou McKenna and they moved to Hanson, where he was one of the founders of Hanson Youth Football and coached for many years. He worked almost his entire career for Raytheon in Bedford, Mass. He was a long time devoted member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Whitman, Mass. He and Nancy loved watching, over the years, their children and grandchildren play sports and participate in extra-curricular activities. Alexander is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Nancy L. (McKenna) Bunar, a sister, Mary Zamaitis, and his children, son Michael and his wife Andrea (Carli), their children Andrew, Sabrina and Samantha; daughter Michele and her husband Kevin Donohue, their children Kevin Patrick, Jennifer and Connor; son Matthew and his wife Jennifer (Jackman), their children Sophie, Sadie and Tommy, and he is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alexander's memory may be made to the , 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
