Brendan K. Doherty, age 39, passed away suddenly on November 18, 2013. Brendan was born and raised in Braintree and lived in Weymouth for 11 years. Brendan graduated from Braintree High School, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for 8 years. Cherished husband of Marcy L. (Bragdon) Doherty, devoted father of Mackenzie and Madison, beloved son of Neal and Sheila Doherty of Green Harbor, formerly of Braintree, beloved brother of Michael J. Doherty of Weymouth and Lauren K. Dolan and her husband Matthew of Halifax, beloved brother-in-law of Christy (Bragdon) DiPietro and Joshua Bragdon, and loving uncle to Annabelle, Emmett, Jason, Wyatt, Jacoby, and Bronson. Brendan traveled the world as a Merchant Mariner for 4 years before returning to Massachusetts. He worked in power generation for the last 12 years. There he enjoyed his trade, his steward duties, and his union brothers and friends. His biggest loves were his girls, Marcy, Macky, Maddy, and his family. He enjoyed spending time with them at Castle Island, going to the beach at Green Harbor, and shooting hoops. Classic cars and riding his motorcycle were also a passion. Funeral from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church Weymouth at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 2-4:30 and 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. Burial in Braintree Cemetery, Braintree.
