Elizabeth Natalie (Johnson) McMenamin of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of Holbrook, Mass., and Roxbury, Mass., passed away after a long illness Oct. 31, 2012, at the age of 78. Wife of the late James E. McMenamin Sr., she was the loving mother of Leah M. Abbott and her husband Richard of Holbrook, James E. McMenamin Jr., Elizabeth N. Climo and her husband Frederick, and Louis R. McMenamin, all of Florida; daughter of the late John P. and Catherine B. (McIntyre) Johnson; devoted sister of Florence Dolly Johnson of Michigan, the late John C. Johnson, Muriel Pari, Johanna Hoyt, and Pearl Johnson; dear grandmother of Leah (Abbott) Knight and her husband James, Richard Abbott Jr. and his wife Kristen, Justin McMenamin, Jessica Wrightington and her husband Tim, Brian McMenamin, Allyson Anderson and her husband Colby, Catherine Climo, and Mark Climo. Also survived by her great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Nicole Abbott, Delilah and Cecelia Abbott, and Jace Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Roxbury, where she grew up and attended St. Patricks High School. She had lived in Holbrook for over 25 years before moving permanently to Florida 15 years ago. She was a former member of the Elks, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the William B. Dalton, American Legion Post. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed boating in Florida. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation period Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 South Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Holbrook, followed by a memorial Mass to be held at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Committal services will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
