Floyd W. Rugg, age 86, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at the Belmont Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, raised and educated there and later attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy. He has lived in Belmont for five years, previously many years in Quincy. Floyd was employed as a machinist at the former Boston Gear Works in Quincy and retired in 1988. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Floyd enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening. Former husband of Waneda (Colflesh) Rugg of Sussex, NJ. Father of Judy Tichnor of Sussex, NJ, Daniel Rugg of Weymouth and Janet Smith of Quincy. Survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Twin brother of Lloyd W. Rugg of Washington, PA and brother of Mary McClintock of Imperial, PA. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, Dec. 16th at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting prior to the service from 10 -11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
