Frances J. (Griffin) Sorgi, age 92, passed away peacefully in the company of her loving family Friday, Nov. 2, 2012. Born in Boston, she grew up in Dorchester, resided in Milton for over 36 years, and had also lived in Yarmouthport and Quincy. Mrs. Sorgi was a graduate of St. Gregory High School, Dorchester, and Boston Clerical School. She was a former employee of New England Tel. & Tel. and St. Margarets Hospital, and a loving supportive wife and mother. An avid reader, she loved music and was a lifelong choir member. The beloved wife of the late Hugo W. Sorgi, she is survived by her devoted children, Kevin G. Sorgi and his wife Eileen of Milton, Mary Elizabeth Sorgi of Squantum, Paula M. Barron of Florida, Judith M. Mirbegian and her husband Rouben of California, Edward J. Sorgi and his wife Anne of Utah, Timothy E. Sorgi and his wife Sheila and Robert A. Sorgi and his wife Nancy, all of Braintree, Christopher Bergin of Amesbury and Deanne T. Adams of Hyannis; her loving brother, Richard L. Griffin; 23 cherished grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Catherine, George and Thomas Griffin. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, 44 School St., Quincy, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Milton Cemetery.
