George E. Barker, of Quincy, formerly of Randolph, passed away unexpectedly April 11, 2014, at the age of 54. George grew up in Randolph. He was a graduate of Randolph High School, Class of 1977. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going for walks with his dog and frequenting the Randolph Elks with friends and family. George was the beloved son of Margaret Barker of Duxbury, formerly of Randolph, and the late Harold Barker; devoted brother of Mary Ann Diamond, her husband Thomas of Randolph, Peggy Whalen, her husband Patrick of Duxbury and the late Bobby Barker; dear uncle to Kimberly Diamond, her husband Jeremy, Paul Diamond, Kristin Diamond, Bobby Whalen, Joe Whalen, Patrick Whalen, Kevin Whalen; and great-uncle to Matthew. Also survived by his beloved dog, Boo Boo. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a funeral Mass at 12:10 p.m. in St. Mary Church, 211 No. Main St., Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be private. George will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him.
