James F. Dwyer, 85, of Englewood, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 15, after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband to Joan (MacLeod) for 62 years; loving father to Kevin and Keith of Braintree, Mass., and Karen White of Easton, Mass. He was the grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was raised in Weymouth, Mass., where he graduated in 1949. He then attended the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Amherst. He worked at Woodland Dairy in Waltham, Mass., before opening his own homemade ice cream shop with his wife in 1961. Welcome Farm was loved by all and became a landmark of the town of Weymouth. In 1997, he and Joan moved to Florida where he continued to enjoy fishing and his ministry as one of of Jehovahs Witnesses. He was a genuinely happy man who always had a smile on his face. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service for Jim held Saturday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 90 Ward Street, Hingham, Mass.
