Obituary Condolences

John Edmond Roche, age 64, formerly of Braintree and Quincy, died unexpectedly, Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was born in Boston, raised and educated in Quincy schools and was a graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1966. He was also a graduate of Bentley College, Class of 1978. He has lived in Abington for three years, previously thirty years in Braintree. John was a financial analyst for the Polaroid Corporation for thirty-one years and has been retired several years. He was a decorated Vietnam War veteran having served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star Medal. John enjoyed golfing and was the current President of the Quincy Sons of Italy Lodge #1295. Husband of Linda F. (Fantasia) Roche. Devoted father of Erin M. Roche-Wise and her husband Eric of Braintree, Nicole M. Mullins and her husband Michael of Abington. Loving Papa of Logan, Mikey and Jonathan. Brother of Rosemary Carideo of Norwood. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Saturday, April 27th at 1:30 p.m. with Military Honors to follow. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting prior to the service from 12:30 | 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Johns memory may be made to Quincy Veterans Helping Veterans, c/o 24 High School Avenue, Quincy, MA 02169.
