John Francis Kenneally (ret. Captain MDC) passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2012. Born and raised in Boston, he had resided in Milton for the past 40 years. Mr. Kenneally was a WW II Navy veteran who had served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He was a graduate of Northeastern University, where he received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees and retired from his position as Captain of the MDC Police after a 37 year employment in 1988 at which time he was names DAV Man of the Year. He was also a loyal active parishioner of St. Agatha Church. The husband of Carmel (Harrington) of Milton and the late Helen Marie (McCusker), he is survived by his devoted daughter, Susan A. Kenneally and her husband, James N. Brower of West Bridgewater, his cherished granddaughter Ashley M. Brower, his loving sister, Sr. Alice Kenneally, SC, of Roxbury, his loving brothers, Joseph P. Kenneally and Thomas A. Kenneally of W. Roxbury and Francis X. Kenneally of Jamaica Plain. He was the brother of the late William J. Kenneally and the late Margaret M. Smith. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Milton Cemetery.
