John H. Duff, of Quincy, died Monday, Oct. 29, after a period of failing health, at Hancock Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was 96 years old and the beloved husband of Anne M. (DAndrea) Duff and the late Claire (Tocchio) Duff. Born in Natick on Oct. 5, 1916, he was one of six children and the loving son of the late Charles and Christine (Olson) Duff. Raised in Natick, he was a graduate of Natick High School class of 1934 and lived in Quincy for the past 70 years. Mr. Duff worked for Bethlehem Steel at the former Quincy Shipyard and later worked many years as a salesman for Kasanofs Bakery. He was a sports enthusiast, active in youth baseball when his children were young, a life-long fan of Natick High School teams and enjoyed fishing, morning outings with friends at the South Shore Plaza and time with his family. Mr. Duff was the loving father of Elaine Allegrini and her husband Michael Terry of Plymouth, Gary and his wife Susan Ellis of AL, Jon and his wife Valentine of CA and Paul and his wife Elizabeth of Carver. He was the cherished grandfather of 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was also the grandfather of the late Mark T. Allegrini. Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Johns Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. Interment in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
